Trail of Lights at Shepherd of the Hills Homestead

Each year during the holiday season in Branson, locals and visitors alike flock to the Shepherd of the Hills Homestead after sundown for an amazing holiday light spectacular. The Trail of Lights is a two and a half mile stretch that winds through the Shepherd of the Hills Homestead. Guests are invited to take a leisurely drive through the Trail of Lights in the comfort of their own cars, and many are known to listen to Christmas carols and sip on hot cocoa or warm cider as they make their way through the light displays.

The Trail of Lights at Shepherd of the Hills Homestead may seem like any other holiday lights display, but as soon as you drive through the gates of the Homestead, you will know you've found something truly unique. Throughout the two and a half mile stretch of displays, you will find three-dimensional mechanical displays that bring you right into your favorite holiday songs and classic holiday tales. Some of the displays incorporate themed music and story narration to provide you with a true sensory experience. Just some of the many scenes you will find here include Santa taking a break at the beach, a traditional church scene with pews decorated in holiday décor, elves giving the reindeer a bath in preparation for their big flight, and more.

At the end of the Trail of Lights, you will arrive at Inspiration Tower. You are invited to hop out of your car and climb the stairs or take the elevator to the top-floor observation deck of the tower. From the observation deck, you can enjoy a unique view of the Trail of Lights from 230 feet above the ground, as well as the twinkle of holiday lights from across the city.

You can add to your holiday experience at the Trail of Lights with the Christmas on the Trail Chuck Wagon Dinner Show. This package gives you admission to the Trail of Lights as well as a chuck wagon-style dinner for a real cowboy experience. Your dinner includes chili, cornbread, cobbler, and other western-style treats. After dinner, spend some time warming yourself by the fire with a Christmas carol sing-along.

Give your family the experience of a Branson holiday tradition this season by spending an evening at the Trail of Lights!

My first experience with a truly magnificent show, dinner and fabulous ride throughout the trail of lights. I only wish I could have had my grand children with me. It was breathtaking and reminded me of a good old fashion Christmas. I love the cowboy age and only wish I could have been born to work the range and sit around the campfire as they did back then. There love of life and there closeness to the lord is refreshing. If you go to Branson especially through the Holidays this show is definitely a must.

We had not seen this presentation for years and felt the improvements to the outdoor theater and to the actual play were very nice.

The story was wonderful, however, the acting could use a little polish. The tribute to the veterans, POWs & MIAs had me in tears it was so beautiful and had a very personal special meaning to me. Please thank them for that!

Unfortunately, as we were not early enough, we were seated in a room far awar from the performance area. I enjoyed the story and the live animals.
