They are known worldwide for their special arrangement of western song classics, as well as thousands of compositions ' the most famous being Bob Nolan's "Cool Water" (which can be found in the Grammy Hall of Fame).
When it comes to music and singing, these guys really have what it takes. Their musical abilities allow them to jump from fiddles and guitars to trombones and trumpets, while still keeping their unbelievable harmonies flowing. These boys really know how to sing a song. But singing isn't there only pastime. They have appeared in close to 100 movies with such stars as John Wayne, Gene Autry, Bing Crosby, Charles Starret, and Walt Disney. Plus, they can be seen in over 45 films with Roy Rogers!
Over the years, there are been 22 different singers and musicians who have been members of The Sons of the Pioneers. And, one of their original 3 members was none other than Roy Rogers himself! (For you trivia buffs, Ken Curtis, the actor who played Festus Hagen on Gunsmoke, was also a member of the group at one time!)
