Since the age of 5, Barbara has combined her exceptional vocals and heartfelt delivery to capture audience's hearts around the globe. Her sincere love for people and bubbly personality makes everyone around her feel good. The phrase, "to see her is to love her" is a true testament to the person that Barbara Fairchild is.
Barbara Fairchild's career spans across time. In the 70's, she became famous with such hits as "Kid Stuff," "Baby Doll," and her signature "Teddy Bear Song." However, she stepped out of the spotlight for a brief hiatus. In 1991, she returned to be greeted with a "welcome back" embrace.
She is recognized in the southern gospel field with songs such as "Could You Walk a Mile," "Turn Right and Go Straight," "Apples of Gold," and "Uncommon Love." With multiple songs and albums to her credit, her latest endeavor is an album done with her husband, Roy Morris, entitled, "Forever Friend."
In addition to her 2 Grammy award nominations, Barbara has been guest on such popular shows as TNN's Nashville Now with Ralph Emery, Crook & Chase, and Prime Time Country. She has appeared on the Tonight Show, Hee Haw, and the Trinity Broadcasting Network (TBN). Her live performances have also included many European and USO tours.
Though Barbara's demanding show schedule keeps her busy, she is still very much a community-minded performer. Barbara is a spokeswoman for the national charity organization, "Feed the Children," a sponsor for the Foster Grandparents Organization, and a member of "Concerned Women of America." Most recently, Barbara has also become a motivational speaker who supports the "We Want America Back" campaign.
But her handy work does not stop there. When not performing in Branson, she and Roy share their love for Jesus by ministering to congregations and helping people in need with encouragement and love through song, prayer, and an upbeat outlook on life. In addition, Barbara and Roy founded the "Tribute to Veterans" Sunday Morning Worship Service, which is held in Branson during Veteran's homecoming week in November.
