Kewpiesta is an annual celebration of the life of Rose O'Neill and the unique Kewpie dolls that she created. During the early 20th century Rose's dolls and other works were highly regarded, and to this day have a stout fan base. Throughout the week long celebration the International Rose O'Neill Club Foundation holds a number of events to honor Rose and keep her legacy alive. Events tend to include auctions, trade shows, get togethers and formal dinners. Along with the many events held throughout the week, the area also offers great Rose related activities. Rose's
Bonniebrook residence is just a short drive from Branson, making a great sightseeing opportunity while in the area.
Although the name of the event is Kewpies, this festival focuses on the full range of Rose's doll making. She was noted not just for her Kewpie dolls, but for her Scootles and Ho-Hos as well. Whether you're a seasoned veteran to the world of Rose O'Neill or are just now learning of her work, Kewpiesta is sure to be a great look into the life and work of this cherished artist.
