The Harvest Festival at the Ozark Folk Center is an annual event in which visitors and locals celebrate the herb harvesting season and enjoy one another’s company. The festival occurs annual during late September or early October. There are a variety of activities and speakers at the festival, including seminars. Some of the lectures for the 2011 festival include “Gardens of Use & Delight” and “Solomon’s Garden: The Biblical Roots of Holy Land Flora.” These lectures will be very informative and provide insight into herb growing and harvesting. Visitors can gain valuable knowledge about everything from growing herbs to the history of herb horticulture.
The Ozark Folk Center itself is a great attraction to visit. At the center and park, visitors can witness demonstrations of a variety of crafting methods, from pottery making and blacksmithing to herb growing and basket weaving. It is a very popular place to visit for those wanting to learn about Ozarks culture and traditions.
