Located on what was once the Kickapoo prairie, the Springfield National Cemetery features many large monuments and memorials that are dedicated to soldiers, generals, and others that have fell defending our land.
Located just 30 minutes north of Branson, here lie heroes from all wars, including one man who met his demise during the Revolutionary War. There are many soldiers buried here from the Battle of Wilson Creek that took place just a few miles to the west. Many of the men buried here are from the Civil War, both Confederate and Union. Visitors can ask for a grave location map, to find the notable persons or loved ones buried on these grounds.
Office hours are Monday - Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., except on Christmas and New Year's Day. Visitation hours are from dawn to dusk. This cemetery is still in use, so please be respectful to any people that may be there to bury a loved one.
If you want to remember your loved ones or just those that have lost their lives, on Memorial Day then why not go to Springfield National Cemetery for the Memorial day Remembrance.
