If you're looking to enjoy the natural seclusion of the Ozarks and the bustling entertainment scene of Branson all at once, then Holiday Hills Resort Golf Club may be the lodging you're looking for during your next vacation. I paid a visit to Holiday Hills on March 23, 2006 and came away impressed by the sheer size of the resort, the surrounding land and the individual touch that each condo possesses.
From the small town charm of passing over Lake Taneycomo Bridge to the many views of the 18-hole, championship level golf course, natural beauty and intriguing sights could be found at nearly every turn even before I made it on to the property.
As for the property itself, there was a lot more space than I had assumed. In total, Holiday Hills is spread out over 4,000 acres and offers visitors a true sense of being away. I was also impressed that I never once saw a piece of litter or debris to be scarring the massive landscape. While a certain level of cleanliness is certainly to be expected (and I certainly didn't scrutinize each inch of the 4,000 acres searching for gum wrappers), I would assume that it could be rather easy to miss a spot here or there with such a large expanse and frequent shuffling in and out of guests. And yet there was not one spot where I could notice sanitary negligence.
Each condo unit I visited gave off a unique feel, due in part to the unique way in which they're handled. Many of the units are owned by actual families and rented out through Holiday Hills, with each unit reflecting that family's unique personality. While all of the condos I visited seemed to have the same basic flow as far as overall design and furnishing, little things ranging from kitchen knickknacks to more eccentric, yet tasteful, additions such as kitchen walls being painted royal purple, gave me a sense of being a guest in a home rather than merely being in a condo.
All of the condos visited were fully-stocked with dishes and utensils in the kitchen, as well as with an array of movies and a few boardgames for entertainment. The living rooms of both the two and three bed condos gave plenty of space for a house-full to sit back and enjoy their vacation in space. However, the one thing that impressed me the most about the actual condo units was their layout. The two room condos were all designed in such a manner that the rooms were at opposite ends of the unit, offering peaceful privacy even when you bring the kids along for a Branson adventure. Even the three room condo I visited seemed to give enough space between each room to offer the true feeling of a condo, and not an apartment structure.
Overall, I would definitely recommend at least one Branson vacation with Holiday Hills included. It offers the perfect location for those that want to experience the many shows of Branson without constantly being amidst the busy 76 strip, convenience to golf enthusiasts and an overall inviting home during your time in the Branson area. And best of all, a stay at Holiday Hills is only a fraction higher in cost than your typical hotel.
