Born in Jackson, Mississippi, Rimes moved with her family to Garland, Texas, where she enrolled in vocal and dance lessons and began performing in local talent shows. She later appeared on the television show, “Star Search,” gaining popularity, and going on to release her first album in 1991 and two more albums between 1991 and 1996. LeAnn was discovered by Bill Mack, and in 1996, her career hit the mainstream.
In 1996, to much critical acclaim, 'Blue' was released, selling 123,000 copies in its first week and peaking at number one on the Top Country Albums and number three on the Billboard 200. From 1997 to 2001, LeAnn cultivated great success by crossing over into the pop genre and included many songs in her compilation album titled, “Unchained Melody.” Following that success, LeAnn released several studio albums, and became a household name and a star in the industry.
