Branson Shows Knows 10/20
Every week, our Branson experts ask our thousands of Facebook fans for questions about Branson they always wanted to know. Our gurus, once a week, select the top queries and hunt down the answers. This week we're talking about some shows in Branson! Here are this week's top questions:
Q: Is Branson's Dixie Stampede appropriate for small children?
A: Absolutely! Dixie Stampede is one of the most popular and exciting family shows in Branson, and it's good for all ages. Children can enjoy seeing the horses before the show, and the pre-show usually features some cool juggling and tricks. The main dinner show lasts about two hours, and there's always something going on in the arena, so kids will definitely stay entertained. Additionally, children under three can actually get into the show free if they sit on a parent's lap and eat off of the parent's plate. Some of our guests have recommended parents bring their own sippy cup, though, to help prevent accidents amidst all the excitement!
Q: When does the Polar Express in Branson run?
A: The Branson Scenic Railway offers a fun Polar Express ride starting the first weekend in November and going until a couple of days before Christmas. In November, the train runs mostly on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. In December, there are rides almost every day of the week at varying times from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. depending on the day. The ride itself lasts about an hour and includes a retelling of the classic story, hot cocoa, cookies, and a visit from Santa with a special gift for each child! Make sure to get your tickets in advance, though, because this popular ride often sells out.
Q: When does Silver Dollar City's Christmas season begin?
A: Silver Dollar City's Old Time Christmas celebration begins the first weekend in November, and runs through the end of December. With hundreds of thousands of lights, a Christmas parade, holiday carols drifting through the air, and plenty of shopping, the Christmas season at Silver Dollar City is like no other!
