Branson Shows Knows 8/18
Every week, our Branson experts ask our thousands of Facebook fans for questions about the city, shows, restaurants, shopping—anything in Branson they always wanted to know. Our gurus, once a week, select the top queries and hunt down the answers. Here are this week's top questions:
Q: Is Shepherd of the Hills still being performed?
A: Yes, it most certainly is! In fact, this captivating live play has been going for more than 55 years. The Shepherd of the Hills features live animals, an exciting shootout, and a real log cabin which is burnt every night. This is one of the more popular attractions in Branson, and we definitely recommend everyone see it once. You can read more information on the show and pick up some tickets here.
Q: Are there any Elvis impersonators in Branson?
A: Branson has seen its share of Elvis Tribute shows and there are currently two shows that offer songs from the King of Rock: Legends in Concert, which also features other impersonators including Michael Jackson and Johnny Cash; and Elvis Live by Jerry Presley, the cousin of Elvis Presley. Both shows are very popular and are sure to be a hit for all Elvis fans out there. The king lives on!
Q: Can you hold or feed tiger cubs at the Tiger Sanctuary?
A: The National Tiger Sanctuary is a non-breeding facility so there are no cubs on the premises to hold, feed, or see. The sanctuary is actually designed to be a permanent home for rescued and donated adult tigers and other big cats who might otherwise be put down. But don't worry tiger fans, the sanctuary is currently home to more than ten tigers, as well as several pumas and a pride of lions that are happy to greet visitors. You can even take a special behind the scenes tour or a feeding tour! Pick up some tickets or read more information about tours and the sanctuary here.
Q: What 50s shows are being performed in Branson?
A: If you're looking for some be-bopping and toe-tapping 50s fun in Branson, then you're definitely in luck! The new Hot Rods & High Heels show is all about the 50s—poodle skirts and all! Another great 50s show is the 50's La Bamba Tribute Show, which features a mash up of popular songs from the era. Of course, there are also a few variety shows which feature 50s songs and, despite the name, the popular show #1 Hits of the 60's also usually has some 50s music mixed in.
