Branson Shows Knows 9/8
Every week, we ask our thousands of Facebook fans for questions about Branson and then we set our Branson Gurus to the task of finding the answers! This week, we asked our fans for questions about outdoor activities around Branson. Whether it's the cool air of fall or the dog days of summer, Branson has some great activities to get the whole family out to enjoy the beauty of the Ozarks!
Q: How many ziplines are there in Branson?
A: There's nothing quite like the whoosh of air as you fly through the beauty of the Ozarks, and visitors to Branson are huge fans of ziplines! In fact, there are at least six exciting ziplines in the Branson area. Adventure Ziplines of Branson, Branson Zipline & Canopy Tour, Indian Point Zipline, Vigilante Extreme Ziprider, and Zipline USA are all traditional ziplines which feature a hanging setup and various levels of difficulty. Parakeet Pete's Waterfront Zipline, by contrast, is almost more like a chairlift and is a little better for older and younger thrill-seekers. Regardless of your preference, all six ziplines offer visitors the best sights and thrills in the Branson area!
Q: Can I rent a horse for trail riding in Branson?
A: Why, yes you can! There are a few locations around Branson that offer trail riding where you can not only experience the beauty of the Ozarks, but get your cowboy on as well! Shepherd of the Hills offers one hour trail rides for anyone over 7 years old, and visitors can then come back that evening to see their equine buddy in a performance! Dogwood Canyon also offers horseback and carriage rides, and Bear Creek Trail Rides offers one or two hour rides with a reservation. Don't forget to bring your cowboy hat!
Q: Where are Branson's best bike trails?
A: The area around Branson is very scenic and so it's no surprise that there is no shortage of trails around Branson for both hiking and biking! There are a handful of trails which are good for various different skill levels. For beginners, the Table Rock Lakeshore trail is completely paved and offers scenic views of the lake. More experienced off-road bikers will want to check out the White River Valley Trail, which has multiple loops that wind near waterfalls, through trees, and both on and off roads. All of these trails are located in Table Rock State Park and feature wildflowers, woodlands, adventure, and plenty of Ozarks beauty and charm for all ages!
Q: What are some of the best things to do on Table Rock Lake?
A: Table Rock Lake is an extremely popular destination in the Ozarks whether you are looking for some water sports, fishing, swimming, or simply sightseeing. A few popular activities include renting a boat—either a motorized boat, a canoe, or kayak—and spending the day enjoying the water. The lake has some great fishing locations as well and visitors can rent a boat or hire an experienced fishing guide to help find the best spots and the biggest fish! Moonshine Beach is a popular destination if you're looking to swim and spend some time sunning while the water gently laps the shore. Parasailing is popular if you're looking for some high-flying fun, and there are plenty of opportunities for scuba diving if your interest lies under the glassy surface. Hiking and biking trails abound around the lake as well, all with plenty of scenic views for anyone uninterested in being on the water.
Q: Are there any scenic trails around Branson that are wheelchair or handicap accessible?
A: Of course there are! As we mentioned in an earlier question, there are plenty of trails around Branson, specifically around the lake, and many of them are paved and appropriate for both wheelchairs and strollers. One of the best ones for wheelchairs is at Dogwood Canyon. This beautiful property features scenic views of water, trees, and wildlife. And, fortunately, many of the trails through the area are paved for easy travel. Some other trails in the area that are handicap accessible include Table Rock Lakeshore Trail and Roark Creek Trail.
