Kirby VanBurch, recognized as one of the top magicians in the world, named the "1999 International Magician of the Year," among other impressive accolades. He has traveled the world, amazing audiences with his spectacular showcase of grand illusions. VanBurch, star of NBC's World's Greatest Magic, began his magical career at age 7 in Houston, Texas, after attending a magic show.
Kirby VanBurch - The Beginning
Young VanBurch created the successful production "World of Magic," and greater recognition soon followed. Kirby VanBurch became the featured performer in the Thirty Million-Dollar Spectacular "JUBILEE," at the MGM Grand Hotel. Enchanting audiences and management alike, Kirby was soon starring in the Reno, Nevada extravaganza, "HELLO HOLLYWOOD HELLO," the largest production show in the world. The Reno/Sparks Nugget Hotel recruited the Master of Illusion, resulting in the highly successful show, "ALAKAZAAM." VanBurch drew national attention with a dazzling, death-defying stunt. Hoisted 20 stories in the air by a giant construction crane, Kirby was suspended, upside down, in foot shackles and a straight jacket, held aloft by only a flaming rope. His successful escape eclipsed even the Great Houdini. This amazing "Great Escape" would later result in VanBurch being inducted into the "Ripley's Believe It or Not" Museum.
Kirby VanBurch - The Branson Years
International acclaim soon followed and VanBurch was invited to appear throughout Europe and Asia. Then in 1992, VanBurch signed to appear in Branson, Missouri. In 1993, Branson awarded the Prince of Magic with AAMA's most prestigious award, Branson's Show of the Year. It's one show you just can't afford to miss.
Kirby appeared for many years in the theater bearing his name' in Kirby VanBurch's Multi-million dollar magical extravaganza. Kirby combined mystifying illusions, and his astonishing Bengal Tigers, leopards, and lion, along with musical productions by an award winning dance troupe, to create a spectacular show, which spellbound audiences. In 2014 Kirby moved to a more intimate setting, to be up close and personal with his audiences. His beloved cats have been retired to a Tiger Sanctuary, but the show goes on!
