Fall Foliage Tours from Branson
Autumn in the Ozarks brings to the wooded hillsides a most spectacular tapestry of vivid colors. While the Cedar and Pine remain their deep forest green, they provide a backdrop for the color saturated hardwoods, creating a scene that only nature could paint.
Typically peaking from mid-September to mid-October the fall foliage puts on lavish show and with its location in the heart of the Ozarks, Branson is a great place to witness the glory of the color changes, and there are plenty of ways to enjoy it.

A scenic driving tour in any direction from town is sure to be a feast for your eyes. Motoring East from Branson on Highway 76 is a good bet, and if you're up for a longer drive catch US Highway 160 East, for some winding highway and some of the Ozarks most splendid views of Hickory, Sycamore, and Sassafras glimmering in gold, and deep reds of Sugar Maple, Sweetgum, and Oaks.
If you prefer to take in the view and let someone else steer, a train ride is a fantastic way to ride in comfort and be hands free to photograph the picturesque views. Train rides from Branson chug South into Arkansas past Turkey Creek where you can find Sycamores with their yellow leaves sometimes more than a foot across, and an excellent vantage point for viewing some of the Ozarks most rugged terrain. Limestone ledges weathered to deep tones of grey and black accent the brightly clothed branches of Walnut, Cherry and Birch.
You can take to the skies for a view from a helicopter tour, or get double the view when you cruise one of the area lakes, and see the majesty of the woodlands reflected in the sparkling waters. Book a cruise aboard the Showboat Branson Belle on Table Rock, or Ride the Ducks right into Lake Taneycomo. The views along Taneycomo were named by CNN Travel as one of 8 spectacular foliage cruises in the United States.
