Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year, especially in Branson. And it just wouldn't be Christmas without a visit to Branson's best light show--the Festival of Lights! Be dazzled by more than 10 million sparkling lights on this 1.5 mile drive featuring both Christmas images and themes as well as popular characters from Elmo to Elvis. Since it's humble origins, the Festival of Lights expanded over the years to become a must-see attraction that gets everyone in the Christmas spirit.
This dazzling annual event showcases more than 300 light displays and animated scenes including the 12 Days of Christmas, a 100 foot long Santa's Castle, a 120-foot long Toy shop, the nativity scene and a 16-arch tunnel of lights that can only be described with "Wow!" As you gaze at the sparkling display from the comfort of your own car, you will hear timeless Christmas classics that will help get you and your family into the spirit of the season. Many of the displays are synchronized with wonderful music, so be prepared to relax and enjoy the 2-hour tour, which runs daily from dusk to 11 p.m. all through November and December.
The Branson lights show was originally started in 1995 to boost the city's tourism during what was then a slower time of year. The first drive-through event was quite short, and featured only a handful of lights. Now, more than 25 years later, Christmas is a fantastic time to visit Branson, and easily one of the busiest times of the year!
