Getting Married and Honeymooning in the Ozarks
Often times, families are scattered throughout the country and can't afford to travel to far-off locations to celebrate love. Branson is an ideal location, because it's nestled into the heartland of America. People have been coming here for years to tie the knot, or to celebrate their first few moments as a married couple with great shows and activities to enjoy together.
For getting married in the Ozarks, there are churches of almost every religion for the more traditional weddings, and chapels for other people.
One such chapel is the Branson Treetop Chapel. It's a rustic log building, with huge windows so you feel surrounded by nature, a floor that was hand painted by a local artist, and a rock fireplace for chilly evenings. There's a waterfall on the property for outdoor weddings, receptions, or amazing photo opportunities.
Chapel of the doves is an adorable chapel surrounded by the hills and scenery the Ozarks are known for . There's a quaint heart shaped fountain in front, and an outdoor gazebo near a little stream for receptions or photos. They even offer a wedding coordinator to help take the stress off you during this important time in your life.
The Log Chapel of the Ozarks is located just north of Branson, hidden by a deeply wooded area and roaming hills. It offers a more intimate setting for your union, in a charming, one room log chapel, available for parties of 12 or less. It's open year round, so if you would rather have a fresh, thick blanket of snow serve as a backdrop for your photos, that's o.k., too. Inside, there are hand blown oil lamps on the walls to provide soft, natural lighting during the ceremony.
The most unique service, perhaps, is the services of Dr. Ermal Williamson. Not only is he a motivational speaker, actor, author, and minister, he's also a dead-ringer for John Wayne. He performs weddings on the grounds of Gaines Landing Bed & Breakfast, but is available for weddings almost anywhere in the Branson area.
If you've already had your wedding, and are just looking for a nice, romantic place to spend your first few moments together as a married couple, there are several gorgeous lodges throughout the Ozarks.
Big Cedar Lodge is a beautiful wilderness resort that is owned by the people of Bass Pro. It's located just 10 miles south of Branson, on the beautiful Table Rock Lake. It has it's own golf course and nature park and, it offers a beautiful view of the Ozark Mountains.
The Gazebo Inn is located just off of Highway 76 Country Music Boulevard, but still offers an intimate setting. The guest rooms are spacious and have gorgeous oak furnishings. This Victorian hotel provides the perfect atmosphere for newlyweds.
There are cabins scattered throughout the Ozarks that are available for honeymooners, and any other type of visitor. Some are larger and a bit more modern, some are very secluded and quite simple. Whichever is to your liking, Branson has it. This is a very extraordinary time in your life, make it count and spend a romantic getaway in Branson today!
