Both beginners and experienced fly fishers can easily find themselves overwhelmed with the sheer number of options of fly selection and methods. This course will help understand fly selection, leaders, knot tying and give an appreciation for fine tackle. The Orvis Fly Fishing School will also train you to handle 30 foot plus casts in both still and moving water and how to read the water and stream entomology. The Dogwood Canyon is first and foremost a nature park and so they educate students to respect the rivers, proper etiquette and the importance of catch-and-release programs.
The fly fishing school has two-day classes available April through October, and a single one-day class at the middle of each month. Once you've got the basics down, why not take a day and practice your technique at one of Dogwood Canyon's beautiful streams or head over to fly fish with the best at Lake Taneycomo or Bull Shoals Lake. Better yet, make it a weekend and stay at the luxurious Chateau on the Lake Resort or one of Branson's many hotels.
