There are a handful of shows in Branson that advertise music and comedy. The Paul Harris and The Cleverlys Show takes the cake. Not your standard hillbilly humor in overalls, these boys are genuinely funny and extremely talented musically. This is a show that you will not want to end, and when it does, you'll kind of wish you could take a couple of them with you.
Paul Harris has been performing stand up comedy for more than 20 years. He hasn't let it go to his head. He has a knack for cracking you up, and being completely genuine in the process. While in his audience, you get the feeling he is talking just to you, like maybe you just ran into an old friend at the feed store. Slapstick antics and identifiable human experience stories keep people in stitches right up to the intermission.
The second act, built around the bluegrass band, The Cleverlys, features four 'cleverly disguised' gentlemen who call themselves a trio. Plenty of silliness and chiding cannot disguise the fact that these guys play some mean bluegrass. But its not your typical picking and grinning bluegrass. Musically impeccable, and completely surprising, they perform a medley of tunes easily recognized by your average teen. The Cleverlys can take any song, and bluegrass it. From AC/DC to Lady GaGa, from Jimi Hendrix to the Mario Brothers...yes, Mario and Luigi. No joke.
Paul Harris and The Cleverlys perform regularly at The Starlite Theatre in Branson, Missouri.
