Grinchmas Day at the Historic Owens Theatre in Branson, Mo is an event that allows visitors to see the movie "The Grinch" starring Jim Carrey. The movie is free with a five dollar purchase at the concession stand. Visitors can have a meet and greet with the Grinch a half an hour before the start of the movie. Handicap seating is available.
The Owens Theatre was built in 1935 and has a seating capacity of 200 people. Throughout its history the theatre has been used for much more than a theatre. It has doubled as a movie theatre, a live playhouse, a place of worship, an auction house, a meetinghouse and so much more. Today, the theatre is the home of the infamous Elvis and the Superstars and they have made it their home for thirteen seasons. Gene Autry and Charleston Heston were among many famous people who have paid the Owns Theatre a visit.
