The Life of Billy Dean

Dean was born in a small Florida town named Quincy. With a population of less than 10,000, young Billy did not have a lot of entertainment. His interest in music began at an early age and by eight, he began playing in his father's band The Country Rocks. Throughout his teen years, he toured local bars and venues, singing his heart out and making a name for himself. He went to college for one year before dropping out to pursue his dream of music. Billy got his first big break into country music when he won on Star Search as the Best Male Vocalist in 1988, eventually leading him to be signed with Columbia Records.
