Getting To Silver Dollar City

Silver Dollar City Staff
Almost 100 resident craftspeople are on hand practicing their trades, so count on seeing plenty of glassblowing, blacksmithing and other 19th-century crafts. The diverse shops feature the arts and crafts of that era, from glass and candles to candy and home furnishings. The park's staff, dressed in period costumes, prides themselves on providing guests with helpful and courteous service that keeps them coming back year after year.
There is truly something for everyone, with kiddie rides for the youngest enthusiasts to more daring roller coasters for the extreme thrill seeker.
Activities For The Entire Family
For the older and bolder set, there's Fire in the Hole, an indoor coaster with high-speed drops and thrilling surprises. Thunderation is an 80-foot tall, high-speed, smooth-riding coaster that offers riders a scenic view of the Ozarks. Then there's Wildfire, a cobra-rolling coaster with multiple loops that speeds at up to 66 miles per hour.
The entire family can gather for the Frisco Silver Dollar City Line, a picturesque 20-minute steam train ride through the Ozark countryside complete with a visit from madcap train robbers.
Silver Dollar City Water Attractions
For those hot summer days, there are water-based attractions like Splash Harbor, a two-story ship and three-level dockside tower where kids of all ages can make refreshing fun with squirt guns. On American Plunge, thrill riders splash down in a log ride from more than five stories up for a good old-fashioned soaking.
Ozarks History at Silver Dollar City
The history of the Ozarks is also on prominent display at Silver Dollar City. For example, the Wilderness Church was built by Ozark settlers around 1847 and now sits on Silver Dollar City's town square. The original church was dismantled and moved there in 1960 from its original site on the banks of Wilson's Run Creek near Reeds Spring, Missouri.
